\nForm the shape and kind of making similar briefcase made for Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor, circa 1950 from Herm\u00e8s, Paris<\/strong><\/p>\n

Auctioneers SOTHEBY’S offered in their auction “The Duke & Duchess of Windsor – The private Collections” held form Februray 19 to 27, 1988 in New York the estate of\u00a0\u00a0Edward VIII, Duke of\u00a0Windsor<\/a>\u00a0 and his wife Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor. The briefcase was made for the Duke of Windsor around 1950 from Herm\u00e8s, Paris using leather and\u00a0Tartan<\/a>. Above the lock you find the initial\u00a0 “E” surrounded by the motto of the\u00a0Garter<\/a>\u00a0and overtopped by a crown. The briefcase was sold to a bidder for a price of\u00a0 40,250.00 US$.
